Planting seeds of knowledge, one garden at a time.
Winter Wonder Workshops
Seasonal Creativity • Nature Exploration • Holiday Magic
Brought to you by The Melanin Urban Gardener
Winter doesn’t stop the garden from growing—it simply moves it indoors. Our Winter Wonder Workshops bring hands-on learning, sensory fun, and nature-themed creativity directly to your center. Perfect for daycares, learning centers, youth programs, and after-school clubs looking to offer a festive, educational experience this season.
Every workshop includes three standard winter activities plus one premium craft of your choice. This structure keeps the experience simple to book while giving kids a fun and memorable winter celebration.
What’s Included in Every Workshop
Each group receives three signature winter activities:
Winter Garden-in-a-Cup
A living holiday decoration with fast-growing winter wheatgrass or rye. Kids plant, decorate, and bring their tiny garden home.
Jingle Jar
A sensory bottle filled with bells, faux snow, sequins, and winter magic. Kids explore sound, movement, and sparkle.
Nut-Free Pinecone Bird Feeder
A safe, classroom-friendly wildlife craft made with Crisco and birdseed. Kids help local birds stay fed during the cold months.
Choose ONE Premium Craft
You pick your bonus activity to complete your 4-part winter experience:
Jam Making for Kids
A sweet, hands-on demonstration using real fruit. Children help mash, measure, and decorate their take-home jar.
Mini Nature Wreath
A festive wreath made with pine, berries, ribbon, and greenery—perfect for classroom doors or home decor.
Mini Birdhouse Decorating
Kids customize wooden birdhouses with paint, winter themes, and nature-friendly touches.
Holiday Ornament Crafting
Nature-inspired ornaments using dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, mini wooden shapes, ribbons, and more.
